Centennial Hospice is committed to providing for our veterans.
Centennial Hospice is a Level 2 partner with We Honor Veterans (WHV).
WHV is a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This program aims to recognize the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families so that community providers, in partnership with VA staff, can accompany and guide veterans through their life stories toward a more peaceful ending.
Achieving Level 2 status with We Honor Veterans signifies Centennial Hospice's commitment to:
Build professional and organizational capacity to provide quality care for Veterans
Develop and strengthen partnerships with VA and other Veteran organizations
Increase access to hospice and palliative care for Veterans in the community
Network with other hospices across the country to learn about best practice models
Implement ongoing Veteran-centered education for staff and volunteers
Develop strategic partnerships at local and regional levels to increase access to quality end of life care for Veterans and their families
Centennial Hospice is currently a participating provider with Tricare and the Veterans Choice Program (VCP). We service patients in Veteran Centers throughout OKC, including the Norman Vet Center and the Oklahoma City VA Healthcare Center.
We also honor veterans through recognition during the admission process and celebration on key holidays like Veteran’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, and specific branch of service birthday celebrations.
